Classification and Usage Description of RF Connectors
RF connectors are mainly divided into three categories: RF coaxial connectors, RF tri coaxial connectors, and dual core symmetrical RF connectors. The main uses are as follows:
1. RF coaxial connector: mainly used for transmitting transverse electromagnetic waves (TEM waves).
2. RF tri coaxial connector: mainly used in situations where higher shielding efficiency is required, for transmitting transverse electromagnetic waves (TEM waves) or transmitting pulse waves.
3. Dual core symmetrical RF connector: mainly used for transmitting digital signals with low transmission rates.
1) The main performance parameters of RF coaxial connectors include characteristic impedance, operating frequency, return loss, insertion loss, isolation, RF leakage, phase consistency, third-order intermodulation, etc.
2) Common materials and coatings for RF coaxial connectors
RF connectors are mainly composed of components such as outer conductors, inner conductors, and insulating support media. The commonly used materials are as follows:
*External conductors: stainless steel passivation, copper alloy gold plating, copper alloy nickel plating, copper alloy ternary alloy plating, etc.
*Internal conductor: Copper alloy gold-plated, copper alloy silver plated, etc.
*Insulation support medium: PTFE, PEI, LCP, etc.
